The National Youth Council of Ogoni People (NYCOP) has condemned threats to the life of the president of MOSOP, Fegalo Nsuke.

President of NYCOP, Theophilus Mbagha made this known in a press release on Wednesday. Mbagha said the plots to kill the MOSOP President was a calculated attempt to throw Ogoni into huge crises and will not be tolerated by Ogoni youths.

He further said any hurt on the person of the MOSOP President a second time after Ken Saro-Wiwa’s murder could leave a deadly scar on the Ogoni especially when it has to do with a popular MOSOP President like Fegalo Nsuke and urged the evil doers to desist from throwing Ogoni into such monumental crises.

Mbagha noted that Ogoni youths remain united in support of the MOSOP President, Fegalo Nsuke, and will not condone threats to his life or that of any other Ogoni.

Mbagha urged aggrieved parties to seek legitimate means of addressing their grievances rather than holding nocturnal meetings plotting to take the lives of other people and taking laws into their hands noting that the MOSOP President enjoys the support of Ogonis.

Mbagha also said the threats to the life of Nsuke portends real danger to the peace of Ogoni. He noted that those plotting the death of the MOSOP President do not understand how much threat such portends to the peace of Ogoni saying that the consequences of such plots can be monumental and unmanageable.
