Amidst controversy and refutal of existence of any know case of the ravaging Coronavirus pandemic in the state, the Anambra state government has continued to shut down public events with the addition of
cultural festivals, concerts, comedy shows and other such gatherings that would attract upto fifty (50) persons and above, till further notice.
A media statement from the State Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Indigenous Artworks and Tourism, Mrs Sally Mbanefo said that, “in line with the directive by Anambra state government banning public gatherings of 50 persons and above.
“The Ministry of Diaspora Affairs, Indigenous Artworks and Tourism hereby informs Ndi Anambra and residents that holding of public festivals such as comedy and music concerts, cultural festivals and related events have been banned in Anambra state until further notice.
“Event organizers, event planners and media organizations are hereby directed to stop announcing such events.”
