Bauchi Governor to provide conducive learning environment

The Chairman of the State Universal Primary Education Board SUBEB Dr Abubakar Surumbai Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi has explained that Governor Bala AbdulKadir Mohammed of the State is doing everything possible to provide conducive learning environment and provide quality education in the State.

Dr  Surumbai stated this yesterday after he inspected the oldest Primary School, Junior Secondary School in Duguri, a Primary School in Gajin Duguri and other parts of Alkaleri Local Government areas of the State, He said he was in Duguri to inspect the ongoing renovation of Primary and Junior Secondary Schools in the area and to seek for fatherly advice from Wakilin Bauchi District head of Duguri with a view to succeed.

He said the Governor Accord highest priority to education and he is doing everything possible to raise the standard of education through the provision of befitting learning environment, quality education and above all to change the narratives inherited in the education sector.

Dr Surumbai said the education was neglected, our Schools were dilapidated some with blown up roofs, lack of desk and chairs which the governor is working hard to address.

He said apart from the provision of learning and instructional materials when he assumed duty the state Governor awarded 5.5billion Naira contract to renovate many dilapidated Primary and Junior Secondary schools, construct new blocks of class rooms and construction of toilets and boreholes in many schools scattered across the 20 local government areas of the State.

The Chairman pledge to construct a toilet and borehole in Duguri oldest Primary and Junior Secondary Schools and pledge to construct blocks of classrooms in the temporary site of extension of Duguri Primary School in the area.

Dr Surumbai said the board will do everything possible to construct additional classrooms in Gaji  to reduce the congestion in classrooms and urged the teachers to do more in providing quality education to their pupils.

 Leader of the Community Alhaji Adamu Duguri Wakilin Bauchi who accompanied the Chairman to the Inspection Visit told the Chairman that Gully erosion is threatens the oldest Duguri Central Primary School.

Alhaji Adamu said Duguri Central Primary is one of the oldest Primary Schools that produced many sons and daughters of the State including himself and the incumbent State Governor Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed and the major problem is the gully erosion that is threatening the existence of the School, during the last rainy season the erosion has eaten deep about to reach blocks of classrooms unless the authorities intervene to save the situation.

He said the community are keen in learning they enroll their children to school as a result of that there is congestion in the oldest Primary which forced him to open a temporary Primary School.

At Gajin Duguri Alhaji Adamu said they have only one Primary School in which they operate Primary School, Junior and Senior Secondary School and urged the authorities to construct more classroom blocks to reduce the burden of many students in one single schools.

Community leader commended SUBEB chairman for his foresight and effort to uplift the standard of education in the state.

He pray to almighty Allah to give the government the wisdom to execute meaningful and developmental programmes that will uplift the standard of living of the Bauchi State citizens and urged the communities to pray more for the success of the administration

The Chairman inspected Primary Schools in Tudun Gambo, Dan, Yelwan Duguri, Mainamaji , Gar and Dindima.
