Re-run; Gololo, ex PDP’s Governorship candidate Jatau emerged winner

Ahmad Madaki Gololo (PDP) and former People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate who double as the current commissioner of health in Bauchi state, Honorable Auwal Jatau has been declared the winners of Saturday’s Zaki and Gamawa Federal Constituency re-run elections


Auwal Jatua was declare winner of theĀ  re-run election by Professor Ahmed Kutama yesterday.
He said, Auwal Jatau got a total number of 15,405 votes to defeat his closest rival Umar Tata of the All Progressives CongressĀ  (APC) who polled 15,307 votes.


However, the Gamawa federal constituency re-run election final result declared by the returning Dr. Abubakar Mohammed from Federal University Dutse as follows, Dahiru Alhaji of ACD scoredĀ  102, Bashir Dogowa scored of ADC scored 152, Waziri Isah of PRP scored 47, Ibrahim Aliyu of Marger Party scored 78

Others are Mustafa Abdul Ahmed of GPN scored 248, Isa Mohammad Wabu of NNPP scored 15,004, Ahmad Madaki Gololo of PDP scoredĀ  21,223.


He declared Ahmed Madaki Gololo as the winner of the re-run electionĀ 


You may recall that Court of Appeal, Jos Division had on November 14, 2019, sacked the All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker, Hon. Umar Tata, representing Zaki Federal Constituency.


The same court had nullified the election of Garba Gololo of All Progressives Congress representing Gamawa Federal Constituency of Bauchi State, ordering Independent National Electoral Commission to conduct re-run election in the area within 90 days.


The Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Ibrahim Abdullahi had ealier in the day described the re-run election for Gamawa and Zaki federal constituencies so far as peaceful.

He said that he was impressed on the level of voter turn out in many of the polling units of the affected areas.
