Petroleum marketers under the umbrella of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Petroleum Tanker Drivers Association and the Independent Marketers branch of the NUPENG have shut down their activities over non supply of Diesel and Kerosene by the NNPC.
The groups in a peaceful protest to the PH refinery and the PPMC Depot in Eleme LGA lamented that for the past two years, the PH refinery have not been producing Diesel and Kerosene but imported Petrol.
Chairman of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, PH refinery unit, Emmanuel Inimgba told journalists that sales of kpo fire Diesel is now flourishing in the state and damaging engines of their petroleum tankers.
The IPMAN Chairman at the PH refinery unit Emmanuel Inimgba accused the NNPC of hoarding AGO and DPK thereby encouraging the KPo fire activites in the State. He said the IPMAN, Petroleum Tanker Drivers and the Independent Marketers NUPENG Branch, will henceforth withdraw it’s services until management of the NNPC make available the products to Independent Marketers in the state.
Emmanuel Inimgba also accused the NNPC of selling AGO and DPK to private depots who now sell at non government approved prices to them.
On his part the Chairman of the Independent Marketers NUPENG Branch Uche Udunwon said no petroleum Tanker Drivers will load and supply products henceforth until they get good Diesel to power their trucks. He says d their truck engines have been damaged as a result of the use of KPo fire Diesel.
