Bauchi Gov. Flags off N3b road construction in Darazo, Misau LGAs

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State has flagged off three billion Naira (N3b) worth road construction project in Sade Darazo, and  Akuyam in Misau LGAs of Bauchi state.

Speaking at the project site in Sade town, Darazo Local Government Area yesterday, Governor Bala said the road construction was awarded at the cost of over 3 billion naira and the road would be linking Sade through Akuyam in Misau LGA

He stated that fifty (50) percent of the amount have being released as part of his administration efforts to ensure the completion of the project within the stipulated period.

He believed that, when completed, the road would reduce the hardship being experienced by the benefiting communities and assured that his administration will not relent in awarding road projects for infrastructural development of the state.

Bala Abdulkadir further appealed to people of the state to support and cooperate with the present administration in the state for effective implementation of its policies and programmes geared towards improving their living condition.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary, State Ministry of Works and Transport, Engineer Stephen Abubakar explained that the road covered a distance of 16.2 kilometers which will be constructed with two coats of surface dressing on a 7.3 metter carriageway and single coat on 1.5 metter shoulders on each side of the road.

The Permanent Secretary  said the road involved  construction of number of box and pipe culverts and noted supervision team has been appointed to ensure adherence to specifications.

The Member Representing Hardawa Constituency at the State House of Assembly, Alhaji Babayo Mohammed who spoke on behalf of the benefiting communities, expressed gratitude to the governor for the gesture, and recalled that the road was initially planned to be constructed in 1981.

During the flagged a horse was donated by the host  communities to the Governor as part of their appreciation for the road construction in the areas.
