The Emir of Rano, Dr. Tafida Abubakar-Ila has insisted that the creation of new four emirates in Kano is designed to boost agriculture, ensure security and encourage self-reliance, particularly among the youths.
He said all hands must be on desk to take Kano to greater heights.
The Royal Father made the comment on Sunday while receiving hundred of youths under auspices of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) and National Association of Kano State Students (NAKSS) who came to his palace in solidarity.
Emir Abubakar-Ila used the forum to commend Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for ensuring that Kano’s cultural heritage is not lost.
The First Class Emir recalled that all the upgraded Emirates have existed in Kano for over 100 years.
According to him, for any community to develop, governance must be taken to them true establishment of credible traditional institutions.
The Emir added that, “the issue of security is sensitive. Therefore, there is the need to give special attention to it so as to allow the economy of our area to grow more.
“Also, we are going to do everything possible to enhance mechanized agriculture so as to encourage the youths to embrace farming.”
He, therefore, called on wealthy individuals within the emirate to invest their resources in agricultural revolution, educational emancipation and security of lives and property.
He further charged the youths to shun any form of thuggery and drug abuse, reminding them that they remain the leaders of tomorrow.
Earlier speaking, the Chairman, Kano State chapter of the NYCN, Comrade Kabiru Ado-Lakwaya said their visit was to express their support for the creation of the four additional Emirates in the state.
According to him, the creation of Rano emirate council came at the right time because it has been in existence for many decades ago.
