Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has dated at his government will provide adequate security for Corps Members posted to Benue state for their National Youth Service Scheme.
Governor Ortom gave the assurance during the closing ceremony of 2019 batch ‘A’ orientation course ceremony held at the NYSC permanent camp, Wannune in Tarka Local Government Area of the state.
The governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hajia Salamatu Idi, urge the corps members not to entertain fear as they will be received warmly by their host communities wherever they are posted.
While he commended the corp members for demonstrating high level of commitment in camp activities and actively integrating well, Ortom called on them to remain diligent in any assignment that will be given to them.
While the governor’s representative was earlier received by the corps members mounted at the quarter guard in company of the state NYSC coordinator and other officials, she was also treated to a marching parade.
The NYSC State Coordinator, Shichia Simon, appealed to the Governor to help reconstruct its delipidated camp multipurpose hall.
He said the members have been properly tutored to fit into the Benue communities for the ease of their primary assignments.
After the camp was declared closed by the governor, the corp members happily cheer the audience with salute.
