Police Arrest Two ‘One Chance’ Keke Operators In Onitsha

The Anambra Police command has arrested two ‘One Chance’ Keke riders in Onitsha who specialized in trailing and robbing unsuspecting citizens of money and other valuables.
According to a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO)-Haruna Mohammed(SP) on behalf of the State’s Commissioner of Police- Garba Umar, the two suspects -Awoke Samuel ‘m” aged 22 years and Timothy Peter ‘m’ aged 19 years, both of No 4 Shebba Street, Fegge, Onitsha were arrested on Monday at about 8pm by a patrol team from the Awada division following an intelligence report.
The boys were alleged to have attacked and robbed one Mr Madu Godwin of Owerri Road, Onitsha of the sum of One Hundred thousand Naira(N100,000), his Mobile phone and other valuables along Central Park Onitsha.
Early investigation indicated that they specialized in trailing their victims using unmarked and unregistered Keke tricycle which was also recovered by the Police.
The suspects, Haruna noted, will be charged to court immediately investigation was concluded.
He also announced the recovery of a golden coloured Toyota Corolla car with Reg No GDD 906 NL, Engine No 2ZRJ567773 which was abandoned on Enugu/Onitsha Expressway by Umunya in Oyi council area of the state.
The PPRO therefore implores the public whose vehicles were either stolen or snatched and has matched the above description to report at Oyi Division Nteje or PPRO office with sufficient proof of ownership in order to claim their vehicle please.
