A recent publication by a former media aide to the former governor of Kano State, Engr Rabiu Kwankwaso purporting to have a video recording of the Kano State Governor, Malam Abdullahi Ganuje collecting bribes to the tune of $5million has been discovered to be a fluke.

Information available to 247ureports.com indicates the supposed video recording does not exist but was fabricated by the Kwankwasiyya group utilizing not-so sophisticated video editors to produce what appears a video recording of the Governor collecting bribe.

The former media aide, Jafaar Jafaar to the Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso had published an exclusive report on his media platform – Daily Nigeria – claiming to have watched a video where Governor Ganduje was seen receiving bribe monies.

Kwankwaso’s media did not publish the video along with the report nor mention the Kano State Governor by name. But the report was followed by another report where he mentioned the Kano State governor by name. Jafaar Jafaar has told sources that he will release the video recording on Saturday.

Interestingly, careful examination of the video recording by the Nigerian security agencies who have seen the video recording reached the conclusion that the recording was cloned and not an original recording.

According to our source, the supposed recording was made available to the President. It was gathered the President viewed the recording and called the attention of the security agencies. The security agencies were tasked to forensically examine the recording. Upon examining the recording it reached the conclusion that the recording was not ‘real’.

Initially, President Buhari did not want to grant audience to the Kano State Governor shortly after watching the video recording. The president was not at ease with the supposed content of the recording. Several efforts by the Kano State Governor was rebuffed by the President. This was not until the results from forensic analysis arrived the President’s desk. The result cleared the Governor.

247ureports.com gathered the President sent for the Governor through a popular Sheik – who brought the Governor to the presidential villa to meet with the President.

It can be recalled that the Kano State Governor and the former Kano State Governor have been engaged in a battle of supremacy in Kano. The battle has caused the forced resignation of the deputy governor of Kano State along with many other supposed supporters of Senator Kwankwaso within the Ganduje administration. This included commissioners and special aides. The Kano State Governor was alleged to have stopped Senator Kwankwaso from holding political rallies in the Kano.

The Governor State Kano had been a loyal member of the Kwankwaso group while he served as the deputy governor of Kano under the Kwankwaso administration. Shortly after becoming Governor, Ganduje’s relationship with Kwankwaso fractured. Ganduje explained that the relationship went bad because Kwankwaso wanted him to join the battle against the President – whom Kwankwaso had fallen out of favor with.

A source who understands the inner workings of the Kano State government house told 247ureports.com that Senator Kwankwaso was particularly peeved at Gov Ganduje – and determined to “deal with him”.

The cloned video recording provided the opportunity.
