Okorocha Officially Declares To Run For Senate
…As Orlu Zone Political Leaders Storm Government House To Urge Him To Run
It is interesting to inform all men and women of goodwill especially Imo people and Orlu Zone people in particular that the governor of the State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has officially announced his intention to contest the 2019 election for Orlu Zone Senatorial Seat.
He made the declaration weekend while responding to the call by Orlu Zone Political Leaders who visited him at the Government House Owerri to urge him to Contest for the Orlu Zone Senate slot in 2019.
The governor had few months ago given the hint that he might Contest the 2019 election to go to the Senate for Orlu zone and never said any other thing on that issue until weekend.
The governor will be Contesting the election on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC. And a Party he single handedly brought to the State and galvanized in the South East and was called all sorts of names for that initiative.
And with the success story of the free education programme in the State and more than one thousand verifiable projects to his credit as governor, he does not need any Campaign or Poster to win his election to go to the Senate for Orlu zone and to continue his service to God and humanity.
And since he made the open declaration to run for the Senate, there has been high level excitement across the State and moreover in Orlu Zone since one good turn deserves another.
The governor thanks Imo people in general and the people of Orlu Zone in particular for loving him and appreciating all he is doing for the State as their governor even when he is not unmindful of the unfortunate activities of the opposition in the State.
Dr. Steve Orji who led the Orlu Zone Political Leaders to visit the governor said that, looking at the governor’s monumental achievements as governor, Orlu Zone Political Leaders have no other option than to come and ask him to run for the Senate to represent the zone.
