Army Destroys Militia Camp In Nasarawa, Recovers Weapons

The Nigerian troops of 177 Guards Battalion have raided and destroyed camp belonging to some armed militia at Ugya village in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
In a statement signed by the Director Army Public Relations, Texas Chukwu, said that the Spiritual Head of the militia group, Angulu Idaku, was also arrested.
According to Mr Chukwu, a brigadier-general, items recovered during the raid include: Seven locally made guns, 12 cartridges, 200 rounds of 7.62MM special ammunition and 76 rounds of 7.62MM NATO special ammunition.
Other Items recovered are: Four knives, 15 cutlasses, 6 mobile phones, One DSTV decoder set, 4 solar panel sets.
The brigadier-general, therefore, advised the general public to report any suspicious activities to the security agents.
