At least two people have been killed in fresh attacks on some Communities in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State by Fulani herdsmen.

Benue State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatai Owoseni disclosed this during an interactive session with Journalists in Makurdi, the Benue State Capital.

Mr. Owoseni said the latest attack also claimed the life of One Police man leaving several others injured.

The Police Commissioner however assured that the force had flushed out some killer herdsmen in two Council Wards of Guma Local Government and promised to consolidate on the success.

He also pledged that all the Camps housing Displaced persons in the state will be adequately policed to ensure their security pending when they will be returning to their respective communities.

Chairman of Guma Local Government Area, Mr Anthony Shawon who confirmed that the latest killings occurred at the country home of a renowned Senator, Mr. Joseph Waku said the personal farm of Governor Samuel Ortom had also been burnt down by the attackers.

Mr. Shawon described Guma as the worst hit in the attacks in Benue due to its porous borders with Nasarawa State
pointing out that the 10 Council Wards of the Local Government have completely been over ran by the marauding Fulani militia.

He expressed concern that despite the heavy presence of the army in some strategic locations, the herdsmen have sustained the attacks on the local communities.

Shawon who expressed happiness on the Amoured Tankers stationed in the area also called on the police to deploy more personal to the area.
