Press Release

The entire humanity is hereby notified that MASSOB is not the owner of Radio Biafra. Uwazuruike is not the owner of Radio Biafra. Radio Biafra first operated as ‘Broadcasting Corporation of Biafra’ in the 1960’s  in the face of genocidal war of extermination propagated by the Northern Nigerian military dictators who spearheaded their jihadism against the Biafrans (for Biafrans, this is a war of survival).

We, therefore, want to clarify that MASSOB which later transformed to Biafra Independence Movement (BIM) has nothing to do with the establishment of Radio Biafra. In 2009 MASSOB assisted in the funding of Radio Biafra but that arrangement only lasted from April – July of 2009 before MASSOB (now BIM) stopped providing support.

The Editorial Board of Radio Biafra tried but could only sustain the Shortwave broadcast for another 3 months to October 2009 before the station went off air and was finally shutdown in December 2009. The  estate management company terminated our studio leasing contract in February 2010.

That chapter having ended, a new Editorial Board of Radio Biafra was constituted in April 2012 that gave rise to the world famous and phenomenal Radio Biafra under the directorship of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as we know it today, funded exclusively by the global IPOB family.

Only mischief makers in the pay of the lying Lai Mohammed will ever associate Radio Biafra with Ralph Uwazuruike or his equally compromised BIM. Radio Biafra will continue to work with authentic MASSOB led by Uchenna Madu as we chase down and overcome the enemies of Biafra.

Signed:

Uche Mefor

Deputy Leader/Deputy Director, Radio Biafra
