The former governor of Anambra State and the present pseudo godfather of the PDP in Anambra state political theatre is reported to have tapped on the family of the former vice president of Nigeria, Dr. Alex Ekwueme to fill the post of deputy running mate to Oseloka Obaze. 247ureports.com gathers authoritatively that Peter Obi has pencilled the name of Mrs. Chidi Ekwueme-Onyemelukwe as the deputy running mate to Oseloka Obaze. Mrs. Onyemelukwe is the first daughter of Dr Alex Ekwueme – she is married to an Nnewi man.

Cursory investigation reveals why Prof. Okunna turned down the offer. According a competent source in Awka who worked closely with Prof. Sella Okunna while she served the Peter Obi administration as the chief of staff and commissioner for economic planning.

The source told 247ureports.com that Prof. Stella Okunna is cognizant of the many ‘shady’ activities she engaged herself while serving the then Governor Peter Obi. “Peter Obi went everywhere with Prof. Stella Okunna both outside trips to meet foreign donors and local trips to Abuja. Only two of them know where the dead bodies are buried”.

The source indicated that Prof Okunna did not want to be casted into the limelight. Her concern is that investigators may begin digging into her activities while serving the Peter Obi administration.

This was further confirmed by Chief Ben Obi who also served under the Peter Obi administration as a close ally to the then Governor Peter Obi. Chief Obi makes no apologies as he told 247ureports.com that he is aware of the shady deals and missing monies received from foreign donors. “I have the dates and travel records and the amounts of missing money”.

He believes Prof. Stella Okunna made a wise decision to reject the offer because he may not be there to protect her from the onslaught of revelations that will follow.

Meanwhile, the Peter Obi group within the PDP recently paid a visit to the former 1st lady, Mrs Patience Jonathan regarding the imbroglio threatening to quench the PDP in Anambra. Particularly, Peter Obi in the company of Oseloka Obaze and Dubem Obaze paid a visit to the former 1st Lady on bended knees pleading with her to reach out to the billionaire oil mogul, Chief Ifeanyi Uba who was allegedly rigged out by the Peter Obi group at the PDP gubernatorial primaries held in Anambra State.  Ifeanyi Uba had raised a petition to the PDP appeals committee regarding the irregularities. 247ureports.com is uncertain the outcome of the visit to the former 1st Lady.
