Turkey’s Ambassador to Tunisia, Ömer Faruk Doğan emphasized that Turkey will soon hand over the five people in connection with the hacking of the Qatari news agency (QANA) to the authorities of Qatar.
He added that the detainees’ initial confessions show that each of them received fifty thousand dollars from the UAE ambassador to Ankara to hack Qatari news agency (QANA) to spread the false news from Qatari emir.
The Turkish ambassador to Tunisia also said the detainees stated that they were unaware of the plot planned by the UAE and Saudi Arabia for putting pressure on Qatar and disrupting the Qatari government and accordingly launch the Qatar crisis.
He condemned this act, declaring that it was not a crime that could easily be ignored because the behind-the-scenes factors tell us that some countries have mapped the Qatar crisis out to expand their power and influence in the region.
The authorities in Turkey announced a few days ago that they have identified five people in connection with the cyber-attack. The investigation is ongoing and the results will be announced later.
On July 20th, Qatar’s Interior Ministry also added that according to sources the examination on the hacking of the Qatari news agency website shows that two URLs have been used in the UAE to carry out this operation. Technical pieces of evidence for examination of the crime have been handed over to Qatari Attorney General so that to begin the research.
