There is tension in Awka, capital city following the today’s All Progressive Congress primary election to elect the standard bearer of the party for November 18governorship election.

247ureports gathered that the 12 aspirants jostling to clinch the ticket of the party for the governorship election refused to accept consensus and harmonization as was initiated by the leaders and stakeholder of the party.

It was gathered that meeting to harmonize the aspirants yo slim it down to between three and four contestants failed as they objected to that insisting that they must stand for the primary election.

Also there is allegation that a preferred aspirant has hijacked the delegates list in a plot to manipulate it in his favor, after he voted millions of naria to bought the officials over.

As it stand now, some aspirants were meeting to ensure that free and fair primary election is being conducted tomorrow, vowing that  nobody could rig or manipulate the election and warned party official from Abuja to desist from anything that mar the election.

Meanwhile, the state commissioner of police Mr. Garba Umar met with all the aspirants today to ensure hitch free primary election yesterday.

A police source told 247ureports that Umar appealed to the aspirants not to see the primary as do or die and should warn their supporters not cause any breach of peace, urging them to accept the outcome of the election.

He said that mobile policemen have been deployed to strategic places including Women Development centre and Dr. Alex Ekwueme square venues of the election, warning that anybody arrested causing crisis would prosecuted
