The South East Governors’ Forum has called on the people of the zone

to disregard the false information circulating in the social media

alleging that the extraordinary meeting with some selected

stakeholders of Igbo extraction slated to hold Saturday,  1st July,

2017 at the Nike Lake Hotel,  Enugu has been postponed, describing the

rumour as false and unfounded.

Chairman of the forum and Ebonyi  state governor, Chief David Umahi

said the meeting with the Igbo stakeholders still holds tomorrow, as

planned and called on the general public not to be misinformed by

those he described as disgruntled elements.

Umahi further maintained that the extraordinary meeting with the

selected Igbo leaders is to chart a new cause for Igbo agenda, adding

that those who circulated the false information were the real enemies

of Ndigbo and should be ignored while calling all the invited guests

to disregard the information.

 The Forum further disclosed that there is no change on the date, time

and venue of the meeting, noting that the meeting will start by 7pm at

the conference hall at the Nike Lake hotel, Enugu and warned those

using social media to misinform the public to desist from such act.

He urged all invited stakeholders to be seated by 6.30 while assuring

that the South East Governors’ Forum has put everything in place to

ensure safety of the people coming for the meeting.
