NSCDC Boss Awakes From Slumber, Parades 6 Suspects Over Illegal Bunkering

After several media bombardments, the Delta State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has woken up to its responsibility as six suspected oil bunkers were paraded by the Commandant.

Parading the suspects in Asaba, the state Commandant, Mrs Beatrice Irabor, stated that the Command is committed to eradicating oil theft, illegal bunkering and other related crimes in the state.

Mrs. Erabor gave the names of those paraded as Andrew John and John Matthew who were arrested at Ikporbene community in Warri South local government area of the state while Chukwubem Ufeli, Chigbua Friday and Obaje Frank were arrested at Kwale in Ndokwa East by the Command’s Anti-vandal team.

She said they were arrested for being in possession of locally fabricated boat popularly called ‘Cotonon’ and illegally refined petrol in a truck.

The Commandant added that one Frank Oweifawer was arrested by a special squad of the Command patrolling along in Warri open river for allegedly been in possession of five drums of substances suspected to be illegally refined petrol products.

She urged members of the public not relent in reporting suspected persons movement or objects to the command and other security agencies for prompt action even as she assured of charging the suspects to court.
