Tragedy struck Enugu metropolis Tuesday afternoon when a passenger train killed a young man suspected to be about 28 year old.
The Eastern District Public Relations Officer of Nigeria Railway Corporation, Mr. Onyekachi Onovo has confirmed the incident.
According to him the deceased whose identity has not yet been ascertained at the time of filing this report was said to be answering phone call crossing rail line at the popular Holy Ghost near Ogbete Main Market when the Passenger train that are going to the northern part of the country from Port-Harcourt River State was passing and knocked him down and he died instantly.
Onovo said officials of various security agencies including Police, Civil Defence and Federal Road Safety where at the scene of the incident.
Efforts reach the State Police Public Relations Officer, Sp Ebere Amaraizu for reaction failed as he did not answer several calls to his mobile phone at the time of filing the report.
