The battle in the House of Representatives concerning the allegation on budget padding involving some members in the lower chamber of the National Assembly took another dimension minutes ago in the form of the suspension of the embattled former Chairman of the Appropriation Committee, Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin.
News Express can authoritatively report that the Jibrin, has been suspended for 180 sittings days.
Legislative or sittings days are different from the normal working days. Therefore, the 180 days suspension handed over to Jibrin is not six months but a little over one year between – it amounts to 13 to 15 months.
Jibrin, who refused to appear before the House Ethics Committee constituted to investigate his allegation, had earlier boasted that he could not be suspended from the House.
