Indications emerged yesterday that about 90 per cent of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and the Nigeria Prison Service (NPS) workforce may soon loose their jobs due to the new conditions of service approved by the services regulatory board and ready to be implemented by the incumbent minister, Gen Abdurahaman Dambazzau.
It was gathered that the Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration and Prisons Services Board (CDFIPB) had recommended the new rules as regard the retirement conditions for officers and men of the services purposely to ‘purge out’ some staff.
Sources at the both NIS and NPS told newsmen that the new conditions when implemented will lead to retrenchment of about 90 per cent of their entire work force.
