Abia Monarch Lauds Ikpeazu, Charge Him To Forgive Political Opponents

A first class monarch in Abia State,  Eze Bernard Enweremadu, has commended Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu, for his performance  and charged him to ensure unity in the state and forgive his political opponents.

Speaking when the Ikpeazu paid him a visit at his Palace at Ahiaba Okpuala in Isiala Ngwa North LGA, the monarch who said Ikpeazu’s emergence was an act of God even when the people of Ukwa-Ngwa had never been governor of the state.

He called on the governor to see himself as the father of every Abia, and accommodate his opponents.

“As Governor of Abia State, you are the father to every Abian. If you have not been told, I want to tell you that you’re a blessing to Abia State and the entire Igbo race. And God has brought you to rebuild Abia.

“As Governor, do everything to unite Abia. Don’t listen to those who will come to you to sow a seed of discord between you and your people. Forgive your political opponents, those who want to work with you, welcome and accommodate them, but be careful.

The monarch decried the belief in some quarters that the Igbo were people without kings or leadership.

He added that it was the enemies of the Igbo people who implanted such erroneous belief, which most Igbo he said appeared to have accepted to be true.

Eze Enweremadu who expressed his support for the Ikpeazu led administration, urged him to ensure that he leaves a mark that would remain eternal as the governor of the State.

Ikpeazu, who was visiting the Palace for the first time since he emerged governor , said he was at the Palace to thank the Monarch for his support and prayers during the campaigns.

The governor appealed for prayers to lead the people and promised not to disappoint the state.
