The National Association of Nigerian Students’ (NANS) Is the apex body of all Nigerian Students in higher institute of learning.
The organization is saddled with the onerous responsibility of championing the cause of Nigerian students across the campuses thus ensuring a better welfare for the student’s populace and Nigerian masses.

The opening prayer was observed. The house led by the Coordinator; Comr. Pedro Chibuzo Obi chanted the NANS Anthem.
The Coordinator in his welcome address appreciates all senators present at the meeting, he also appealed to the senators to raise their submissions in the interest of Nigerian students and the masses of the nation.
A) National Convention:
The Senate of NANS ZONE B noted that the tenure of the current NANS National Executive Council is long overdue and as such the convention slated for 31st May to 4th June 2016, must hold as anything short of this, the organization will be perceived as uncoordinated in the sight of various institution management. Also our muslim brothers/sisters will begin Ramadan fast by 6th June 2016, which will last till July and by July and August, most institution across the country will begin their second semester examination, therefore most union wouldn’t participate until September which can never be acceptable.
NANS Zone B, unanimously agreed that the zone will fully mobilize to Taraba State on 31st  May, 2016 come what may, and calls on other zones to join as new NANS Executives must emerge before the fasting period.
B) State of the Nation:
The senate discussed extensively and exhaustively on the state of the economy, particularly the hardship unleashed on Nigerians courtesy of the obnoxious policy occasioned by the astronomical hike in Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).
In the past few months, the Federal Government has aided artificial scarcity of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), subjecting the Nigerian masses to untold hardship from N86 and N 86.50 to N145.
This no doubt, is an indictment on the Federal Government, a government  that has failed to tell Nigerians the true position of things, a government where senior officials are dishing out counter statements in defense of fuel price hike, defending the indefensible.
NANS Zone B sympathizes with Nigerians on this unfortunate and sorry state of the Nigerian economy, NANS Zone B condemns in strong terms the manner in which the administration is managing the fuel crisis and unanimously rejects the conspiracy between the Federal Government and Independent Marketers of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) in impoverishing Nigerians.
C) The State Of NANS Zone B/Campuses.
The Coordinator, read out various intervention the leadership of the Zone has embarked upon since the inception of the administration. Ranging from University of  Benin, Niger Delta University, Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi Uku, and the University of Port Harcourt. The University of Port Harcourt is still ongoing as the leadership of the zone awaits the panel report investigating the UNIPORT crisis for the next line of action.
RESOLUTIONS OF THE SENATE MEETING:
After extensive deliberations on the Agenda of the Senate Meeting of NANS Zone B, the Senate unanimously resolved as follows:
1) That the zone will mobilize to Taraba State on 31st May, 2016 come what may, and that the Coordinator should liaise with other zones to ensure 31st May, stands.
2) The Senate condemns in strong terms the hardship melted on Nigerians as a result of the conspiracy of the Federal Government and Independent Marketers of Premium Motor Spirit over the fuel hike.
3) NANS Zone B rejects the fuel hike in totality and call for a return to status quo.
4) The Senate of NANS Zone B closes down all campuses in the eleven States of the Zone starting from Friday 27th May, 2016.
5) A centralized massive protest to occupy South South  and South East Nigeria on Friday 27th May 2016.
A.O.B:
