Members of Christian Praying Assembly, CPA, in Awka have held a birthday celebration for the founder of the church, Rev King, who is currently awaiting the hangman’s noose.
King was last week affirmed by the supreme court to be hanged to death, following the death of a female member of his church, Miss Ann Uzoh, who he burnt to death for committing formication sometime in 2006.
Members of the church in Awka led by the pastor of the church which is situated at Abakaliki street in Awka, our correspondent learnt gathered to celebrate their hero, King whom they extolled for his virtues.
The pastor who is also as bearded as King, whose name was not immediately known led the over 50 members of the church in a prayer session, calling on God to ha e mercy on his son and free him from the persecution. He was undergoing from his enemies.
Though our correspondent was unable to speak with the pastor as he had left the church when our we arrived, but a female member of the church who spoke with our correspondent anonymously said they were sure he will return.
“Rev King is not just an ordinary human being. Most of this things that are happening now, he had already told us will happen.
” He does not have a phone, and even when he was not in prison he did not have a phone, but he is able to communicate with all his members. He has already assured us that no man born of a human can harm him. So we are waiting for his return, death sentence or no death sentence.”
The member also said that the spirit of their general overseer is putting confusion in the camp of the enemies, saying that it is the reason for the disparity reporting by the media over his sentence.
“He had already told us that all these will happen, he even told us that this sentence will come on His birthday so we are not surprised. If they kill him, what it means is that the world does not like good things.” She said.
