A sad day, weekend, greeted the Olomoro community of Isoko South Delta State, as the traditional ruler of the kingdom, HRM Josiah Agbaza 1 was kidnapped by unknown gunmen at the early hours of Friday.
In a telephone call with the President General of the Olomoro Kingdom, Chief Isaac Onome, he told 247ureprots.com that the Royal Highness was whisked away by unknown gunmen and that a combined team of military, Police and vigilante had been mobilized and are combing the area and its environs in search of the king and his assailants.
This is coming barely a week after the monarch of Ubulu-Uku kingdom in Aniocha South, HRM Obi Akaeze Edward Ofulue III, was kidnapped by suspected Fulani herdsmen and found dead in the forest.
The Olomro monarch who is popularly known as Odio Ologbo was kidnapped in front of his palace gate between 7:30 to 8 a.m. He is one of the leading monarchs in the Isoko nation of Delta State.
According to Onome, the security agencies had mapped out strategies to rescue the monarch with all their intelligence as they are not ready to take chances so as not to lose him as that of Ubulu uku was lost to the kidnappers.
One of the security officers who is part of the team combing the forest in search of the monarch told our reporter that “we are trailing the kidnappers, we will not relent, we have vowed to arrest them and bring them to book, they cannot go scot free over this criminal act against humanity and God.”
The Police officer in his emotion laden voice said the command can never fold its hands and watch, all the gang members will be arrested, because effective strategies are in place but we cannot make them public in order not to jeopardize our ongoing search and manhunt against the kidnappers”.
