The Police Mobile Force (55) Squadron, Aba, Abia sate has recovered a stolen car from a mechanic workshop in the city.
247ureports.com gathered that the Suzuki Grand Vitra car with registration number; LSD 723 DF, belonging to C and I Leasing Company was stolen in Port Harcourt, Rivers State when its driver, Augustine Nwanna, who was sent on an errand failed to return. The company reported the matter to the police who swung into action and tracked the car to Aba.
The missing car was later tracked to a mechanic workshop where Police arrested two suspects; Ihechi Nathaniel Wilson who lives at No 4 Agolawa Street, off Ngwa road, Aba and Samson Baba of Oloha in Dekina LGA of Kogi State who attempted disconnecting the tracking device. Wilson and Oloha were said to have denied knowledge of the theft of the car and the whereabouts of its driver.
Similarly, men of the Safer Highway patrol team attached to Ntigha junction on the Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway, recovered a Toyota Avalon Car with registration number KWL 400 BC. The recovery followed observation made by a member of the team which led to the vehicle being flagged down for a search, but the driver and the other passenger in the vehicle bolted into the bush.
Abia State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Ezekiel Udeviotu Onyeke, who confirmed the recovery of the vehicles, said the owner of the Toyota Avalon which was stolen from where it was parked at Aba, has proved ownership and collected his vehicle while efforts are on top gear to arrest the fleeing criminals.
