Disturbed by several allegations of corrupt practices, poor service delivery and lopsided appointments against his partyโ€™s change mantra, Bauchi State Governor, Muhammed Abubakar has seem to have already lost the bearing, has now headed to engage the service of marabouts and other fortune tellers to silence the voice of anti-corruption crusaders against exposing his scams and engaging an indicted scammer, a praise singer Umaru Azare who swindled the state millions of naira during the administration of Ahmadu Adamu Muโ€™azu.

247ureports was reliably informed by a close confident to the embattled governor of the engagement of one Samaโ€™ila Bajoga, a renowned Bauchi based marabout, who has over the years supported corrupt and thieving public officers with prayers to escape justice and exposure as the governorโ€™s aide on โ€˜religious affairs to offer him assistance with some โ€˜powerfulโ€™ prayers to escape further exposure of his atrocities against the people of the state.

The source revealed that for the just concluded Maulud celebration, Bajoga was entrusted with large sum of money to appease some clerics to join his team for the governorโ€™s dirty job of covering planks.

โ€œApart from several cases of official corruption and diversion of public funds, governor Muhammed is accused of lopsided appointments to favor only members of his nuclear family and stooges of his deputy, one Nuhu Gidado.

โ€œIt was Gidado who recommended several aides lacking the required capacity to perform other than being his errand boys, friends or political associates. The State Accountant-General, Abubakar Gabi for instance, was appointed not on merit but as a friend to Gidado who can do their odd jobs at a go. He is an ex-convict who swindled the defunct Inland Bank when he was a branch manager in Kano.

โ€œThe Chief Security Officer (CSO) to the governor was brought on board from the influence of the governorโ€™s son. The man who was counting days in the DSS is in-experienced, dull and incompetent to handle such a sensitive position but retained for obvious reason. It is alleged that within seven months of his assumption of office, he has stashed over N50million in one of his bank accounts suspected to have been stolen from Bauchi State Government coffers while the governor keeps on shouting that there is no money but his CSO is busy shortchanging the state under the guise of security.

โ€œThe CSO has not only caged the governor away from people but appears to be the de-facto governor displaying some air of arrogance and primitiveness typical of a village vigilante in power

โ€œDue to inexperience and greed of the Cso, an anti-corruption crusader was directed to be arrested by the compromised Nigeria Police for exposing corruption and stealing that is flourishing in the Bauchi administration. The arrest and subsequent prosecution of Yakubu Alhaji Jibrin will not solve the problem. Corruption and stealing must be stopped or else the administration should expect more exposures.

โ€œThe governor maintains the Government House at a monthly amount of N80million and doles out N6million to his two wives every month while majority of the people sleep on empty stomach without a future. Apart from cases of over-invoicing and bogus award of contracts to his children, friends and fronts, he dips his hands into the treasury at will with the support of his errand boy who is the conscripted accountant-general of the state that is alleged to have mustered the art of crimeโ€.
