Information available to 247ureports.com obtained from source a close to the government activities in Bauchi State government house indicate that the Governor of Bauchi State, Alhaji Abubakar has turned to spiritualists to help him govern the state. And as gathered, his choice of ritualist [babalawo] has begun wreaking havoc in the state through undue influence over the governor.

According to the available information, Sama’ila Bajoga, an indigene of Gombe State is reported to be the ritualist that the Governor of Bauchi hired. Sama’ila Bajoga is said to have worked for the two previous governors of Bauchi State – in the persons of Yuguda and Muazu. The job of the ritualist, according to a source close to the governor is to delve into the spiritual world and predict what decisions the governor should take on administrative matters – who to associate with or not associate with. The ritualist’s services includes protection of the governor from all ‘man made’ evils and spells.

Interestingly, the job description of the ritualist has in effect given him undue control over the Governor in a manner that has begun to raise eyebrows in the State. “He has become more powerful than the deputy governor” claims our source from Bauchi who went on to add that his influence over the Governor has made him able to nominate cabinet members for the governor. “He was said to have nominated the Commissioner slot allotted to the Deputy Governor’s LGA without him knowing”.

Through his ever growing influence over the chief executive of the state, the clairvoyant has effectively turned himself into a clearing house and a lobbyist for individuals who want to curry favors from the Governor. According to our source, “he now collects huge amount of money from people who are looking to get something from the governor. This man is so powerful that even the Deputy Governor of Bauchi state seeks favor from him. Recently, the Deputy Governor asked this very Sama’ila Bajoga to please talk to the governor to consider his (deputy governor’s) brother for appointment as Chairman, Bauchi State Pilgrims Welfare Board.”

The source continues to add that “he was alleged to have collected N5million from a former chairman of PDP in the state, Alhaji Garba Muhammad Noma, in order to help him recover his plot of land seized by the Mohammed Abubakar administration in its public assets recovery exercise”.

247ureports.com gathered that the ritualist appears to be one of the common thread that joins the two former governor and the present governor together. “They belong to the same clique” said of the close associates of the three governors who had worked with the governors and claims to understand the relationship that the three individuals have with the ritualist. “He virtually controls their actions and movements”. But the ritualist is said to not be as influential during the two previous administration as he is presently with the Abubakar administration.

The ritualist lobbyist activities in Bauchi as expected has begun to net him some significant financial gains. Evidence of the monies he has collected from the people of Bauchi and the government of Bauchi has begun to show. Directly across the street from his home located along IBB road in Tudun Salmadu [sp], he is said to be erecting a ‘huge’ structure believed to be a school. It is not certain if he is erecting it for himself or for the governor.
