Information available to 247ureports.com indicates that the one time two-term Governor of Abia State, Mr. Orji Uzor Kalu and the owner of the Sun Newspapers may have continued to utilize his national tabloid newspaper to tarnish images of his perceived political foes. This development comes after having used the tabloid to blackmail the immediate past administration in Abia State.

The latest attempt to attack the immediate past administration came on Friday when the immediate past governor of Abia State, Senator Theodore Ahamefula Orji arrived to an event in Osisioma for the burial event of the father of a senator. Senatoe Orji had arrived in the company of the deputy Senate president, Senator Ike Ekweremadu. Mr. Orji Uzor Kalu was also in attendance. Other dignitaries of the south east extraction were also in attendance.

At the moment of entrance by the duo of Senator Ekweremadu and Senator Orji, Mr. Orji Uzor Kalu was seated with his supporters who had cheered him as he arrived. And as the announcement was made of the entrance of the two senators, the venue turned into a frenzy. The cheers and wails became immediately deafening – partly for the battle waged by the deputy senate president against the APC [All Progressive Congress] dominated Senate – and partly for the presence of the immediate past Governor, Senator Orji. While the crowd applauded, Mr. Orji Uzor Kalu was seen to not applaud or react. His demeanor was stoic.

However, as the morning Newspapers arrived the streets of Abia State the following day, the news told another tale. The Sun Newspapers published that both the deputy senate president and Senator Orji were booed as they made their entrance into the event.  It is believed the owner of the Newspaper may have subjected the media workers at the newspaper to join in his ongoing battle to tarnish the image of the immediate past governor of Abia State.
