In spite of his un-ceremonial exit as Peoples Democratic Party, PDP National Chairman and the confusion he artificial created within the party before exiting, Ahmadu Adamu Mu’azu is alleged to be in a secret romance with the ruling party APC ostensibly for his selfish desire and possibly to create another confusion within the APC for its ultimate disintegration as he master minded in PDP.
In a press release made available to 247ureports, Bauchi State secretary-general of Credible Alternative Alliance, CAA, Muhammed Yusuf Rakis alleged that the PDP erroneously rushed at its trying period to select Mu’azu as preferred replacement to Bamanga Tukur ignoring his past antecedents that later wrecked havoc on the party and denied it victory at the elections.
Rakis opined that Mu’azu as governor of Bauchi State, 1999 – 2007, led a dictatorial administration that courted hatred for PDP and its subsequent defeat in the elections, stressing that, “Mu’azu short changed the PDP, cornered most of the election materials resulting to a humiliating defeat and disintegration. His greed and hypocrisy caused him his senatorial contest to a relatively unknown contestant, Bala Muhammed of ANPP who rode to victory on the influence of Yuguda in 2007. Mu’azu’s administration suspected of corrupt practices was later probed and indicted by a competent Commission of Enquiry which he cleverly voided prosecution and went into hiding overseas only to resurface after the demise of President Yar Adu’a to join the 2011 PDP presidential campaign train for cover from EFCC arrest and prosecution”.
According to Rakis, when the embattled Bamanga Tukur was forced to resign as PDP national chairman and Mu’azu touted as replacement, former Bauchi State governor, Isa Yuguda who knows Mu’azu better had cause to warn former president Jonathan against making the costly mistake of entrusting PDP chairmanship to Mu’azu for fear of betrayal, mal-administration and hypocrisy, saying, “Yuguda warned Goodluck not to trust Mu’azu but Goodluck ignored the warning until Mu’azu proved him wrong. PDP presidential campaign fund and materials for Bauchi state were diverted. Mu’azu as national chairman woefully failed to deliver even the votes of his polling booth to PDP but instead, smiled to the banks leaving Professor Sule Elias Bogoro of Tetfund to shoulder the responsibility of delivering Tafawa Balewa/Bogoro votes to GEJ. The end result was betrayal of trust and Yuguda was vindicated. As part of his game plan, he and other Abuja PDP stalwarts vehemently refused to support the efforts of Yuguda to deliver the state to PDP. Mu’azu and his co-travelers chose to work against Yuguda’s positive plans that caused the party a total defeat and disgrace. Now as characteristic of him, it is alleged that he is in secret romance with APC having lost out in the PDP as a ‘game changer’.
He is said to be a nocturnal caller at the Villa as a hidden supporter whose mission is suspected to be fraudulent. He is planning to reap where he did now sow with false and bogus claims. It is alleged that instead of being idle, he is now engaged in arranging cover to identified fraudsters that may possibly be probed by President Buhari for a fee.
“He is using his associated clowns and touts that claim to have connections with ICPC, EFCC etc to extort money from the likes of Professor Sule Elias Bogoro, executive secretary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (Tetfund) who is alleged to be enmeshed in several financial scandals for possible clean bill of health to avoid President Buhari’s searchlight that is overdue. In one of such deals as alleged, an EFCC suspected tout collected over N10million from the embattled Bogoro whose active participation and waste of public funds on Goodluck presidential campaign was in the public domain apart from the use of ethnicity and religion”.
Rakis added that Prof. Bogoro is one of those that should be thoroughly probed as he was in the forefront of campaigning for PDP with public resources that should not be wished away should the dividends of change be reaped, saying that, “Bogoro has now introduced a new defence mechanism of deceit through sponsorship of advertorials showcasing his fake achievements to divert attention using miscreants and hired APC youths groups to launder his image for possible escape. If APC means to sanitize the mess it inherited, the likes of Sule Bogoro etc must be probed and shown the way out while keeping a distance from the likes of Mu’azu for probity and good governance”.
The social critic added that,” Bogoro is better known as PDP pillar in Bauchi state than a university lecturer. The position he occupies as tetfund executive secretary was offered him for his role in 2011 GEJ presidential campaign. He only re-strategized for the 2015 contest to retain the position for business as usual having access to public funds which he did with passion”.
