Suspected Ritualist Escapes Lynching In Owerri

If not for the timely intervention of the men and officers of Nigeria Police Force, a man said to be in his 30s was nearly lynched in Owerri, Imo State by a mob after he was allegedly hypnotized a young lady with the intention to kidnap her.
The incident which occurred at the ever busy Douglas road in Owerri witnessed the young man in a keke NAPEP touch a young girl inside the keke, who immediately went into amnesia and could no longer remember where she was.
The operator of the keke, who immediately noticed the change stopped and started querying the man what he had done to the young girl.
When the man could not give any meaningful explanation as to what had happened to the lady, who raised an alarm that attracted the attention of many passers-by.
On gathering at the scene, the culprit was searched, items pointing to the fact that he could be fetish were allegedly found on him.
The angry mob seeing the sorry situation of his victim was about lynching him before the police arrived and took them to the fire service police station in the state capital.

On arriving at the police station, the culprit was seen writing his statement behind the canter, while the victim was rounded by a crowd of people who were thanking God for sparing her life.
The spokesperson of the police in the state, Mr Andrew Enwerem confirmed the incident and informed that it took the police over 3 hours to resuscitate the girl.

Mr Enwerem informed that the police were on top of the situation, as investigations were being carried out to unravel more facts about the irritating development.
