There are indications that revolt among Nigerian Police Force (NPF) is imminent if the ongoing Cadet ASP Course 20/2000 shortlisted for promotion to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) is carried out.

This may not be unconnected with the fact that the ASP Induction Course 2000 Participants who are supposed to be their seniors have been manipulated and thrown out.

The manipulated was said to have been done without recourse to the provisions of the Police Act and Regulations.

Findings by 247ureports revealed that the two crops of the Senior Officers have been charging over seniority since 2009 and 2010, prompting the Police authorities then to institute a committee to genuinely investigate who should be the senior.

The committee was said to have come up with a report which rightly put the ASP Induction Participants as Seniors to the Cadet ASP Participants, resulting to the promotion of ASP induction Course Participants (SPS wef 01/01/2008) two months ahead while the Cadet ASP Course Participants were promoted SPS (wef 01/03/2008).

The manipulation, according to the findings, was once stopped by former IGP Suleiman Abba by changing the date of the ASP Induction course 2000 to 1/8/2008 and that of Cadet ASP 20/2000 to 1/5/2008 when the ASP Cadets Course 20/2000 were illegally and ambiguously placed ahead of the ASP Induction Course Participants, a contradiction of the Force Headquarters directive of 12/09/201.

The manipulation, by some Senior Officers in Force Headquarters in Abuja, insiders revealed, totally negates due process, lamenting why they should manipulate the staff list of the NPF illegally, tampering with the promotion dates of some SPs and as if they were demoted without disciplinary offence.
