Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Candidate in Imo and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, CON, KSC, has expressed strong optimism that the State will rise again from the ashes of backwardness and bad governance.
In a message to mark the Easter celebrations, Rt. Hon. Ihedioha said the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ which is being commemorated by Christians all over the world symbolizes for Imo people at this material time, the positive turn around that awaits the state if by the grace of the electorate, a PDP administration headed by him is voted into office next Saturday.
He called on the people of the State and indeed all Nigerians not to lose the essence of the Easter season in the joy of the celebrations but to reflect on the life and virtues of Jesus as well as the resurrection power of the saviour of mankind.
The PDP governorship candidate also called on Imolites to eschew violence and embrace peace and tolerance especially during the electioneering season, noting that at the end of the day, the collective interest, progress and unity of the people is what is paramount.
According to him, the Easter season which heralds the gubernatorial polls portends for Imo State a unique opportunity to retrieve the State from the maladministration and misgovernance of the incumbent governor and usher it into a realm of a transparent, accountable, progressive and prosperous all-inclusive government of the people.
“Just like the death and resurrection of our dear Lord Jesus Christ transformed mankind into redemption and glory, our hope and resolve is that Imo State will equally witness a positive change,” Rt. Hon. Ihedioha said.
