The All Progressives Congress (APC), Kwara State chapter has berated the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for its penchant for violence while condemning the shooting of a student at Agbamu, Kwara State by political thugs belonging to the PDP.
The APC in a statement issued on Wednesday by its Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Sulyman Buhari, said the shooting of an innocent student at Agbamu on Tuesday by PDP thugs is condemnable and reprehensible.
โโWe hereby condemn the unfortunate incident that happened at Agbamu where an innocent lady who is a student of Kwara State College of Education, Oro was hit by bullets fired by thugs sponsored by the PDP who had thronged Agbamu for a political rally that turned out to be a violent gathering.
โWe gathered that the lady was promptly rushed to the hospital in an effort to save her life.
โIt is specifically shocking that a lady who didnโt attend PDP rally but merely doing her own activities at her house fell in victim of PDPโs penchant for bloodshed.
โThis unfortunate incident clearly shows that there is no limit to the desperation of the PDP to ignite violence, tension, fear and cause voters apathy ahead of the general elections.
โMeanwhile, this unfortunate incident has vindicated and confirmed our position that the PDP is working to implement an evil agenda ahead of the elections.
โThe security agencies โare once again alerted on the latest dimension of PDPโs criminal and violence activities in Kwara State. The victimised lady deserves justice. At least, if the security agencies couldnโt protect her from being shot, the security agencies โshould be able to ensure justice for her sake. Afterall, nobody is above the law.โ, the statement read.
