According to those plotting the removal of Col. Sam Inokoba(rtd),the accused Party Chairman allegedly diverted N40million out of the N70million provided for the Party and also had a substantial share from the remaining N30million unknown to the members of the State Working Committee of the Party.

The move to remove the Party Chairman is already creating tension among his loyalists and aides of the State Governor,Hon. Seriake Dickson. Those calling for the removal of the accused PDP chairman, attributed the incident where Sam Inokoba collapsed during the Presidential rally to the pressure created over the alleged fund diversion.

The discovery, that the sum given to the Party was N70m and not N40m,was made during the PDP Presidential rally which was attended by the Minister.

When the Publicity Chairman of the party, Barrister Osom Macbere was contacted, he dismissed the issue as a rumor, saying there is nothing like that.

It was however gathered that the plot to remove the Party chairman has received the endorsement of the State Governor,Hon. Seriake Dickson. The Governor, according to the Party sources, have had a difficult time with the Party leadership under Col.Sam Inokoba during the party primaries in the state.

Col. Inokoba, according to some aides of the State Governor,is accused of questioning the Leadership role of the State Governor,Hon. Seriake Dickson during the State and National Assembly primaries which led to the upholding of the policy of zoning initiated by the State Governor.

Though the Governor successfully won with his “restoration” boys winning party tickets, the action of the Party Chairman exposed him to ridicule. The PDP Chairman,Sam Inokoba and the State Governor,Hon. Seriake Dickson were reported to have traded words over choice of candidates during the Party primaries in the State.

The alleged action of the Party Chairman, according to the source, led to the positioning of King Serena Dokubo -Spiff as the Deputy Chairman of the Party. The Okpoama born Former Deputy Chairman, was lured away from his position within the Party with the State Assembly ticket of Nembe constituency.

According to the Party source, the Newly appointed Deputy Chairman of the Party,King Serena Dokubo-Spiff,would be expected to emerge as Acting Chairman of the Party if Col. Sam Inokoba is removed.

Serena Dokubo-Spiff is a well known legal practitioner and the presiding Lawyer that delivered the landmark judgement which led to the sacking of the Former Bayelsa Governor,Chief D.S.P Alamesiegha in 2005.

Dokubo Spiff recently launched a campaign Organisation known as Brass Restoration and Actualization Vanguard (BRAVO) to support Governor Seriake Dickson administration in the State.
