The people of Ideoto North and Ideoto South Council Areas have disowned the Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha who hails from the area for failing to live up to expectation and disappointing the state through bad leadership.

They have according to them, resolved to vote massively for the Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives and PDP Governorship Candidate for the forth coming general elections, Chief Emeka Ihedioha.

Making their position known at the Statewide Governorship Campaign Rallies held separately at the Council Areas, they described Gov. Okorocha’s administration as ‘‘selfish and uncoordinated’’.

This was followed by the massive defection of over 5, 000 APC and APGA members in the area led by the Governor’s inlaw, Chief Chinedu Okoro, a chieftain of the APC to the PDP.

Speaking amongst other leaders at the rally, the Chairman of National Population Commission and former Chairman of PDP Imo State, Chief Eze Duruiheoma SAN said, ‘‘Gov. Okorocha is our brother but we must rise above sentiments if our state and indeed Nigeria must make progress. The truth is that Okorocha has disappointed and embarrassed us with his poor leadership and. His government has failed woefully in all the sectors of the state.

‘‘The need for a positive change has become, more than ever before, very important and hasty in order to address the comatose state of Imo State. We have embraced Chief Emeka Ihdeioha, the PDP flagbearer because of his experience, transparency and track record of service and we are sure that he will as usual deliver the dividends of democracy to Imo people.’’

Addressing the tumultuous crowd of party supporters and APC defectors, former governor of Imo State and Presidential Campaign Coordinator for Imo State, Chief Achike Udenwa said Gov. Okorocha has not only strangulated the state economy, but has breached an agreement reached with him for a single term of four years and relinquish power.

He reiterated the need to support, Hon. Ihedioha as governor of Imo State, pointing out that it is the turn of Owerri Zone to produce the Governor this time since other zones have had theirs.

Other speakers who attested to the capacity and credentials of Chief Ihedioha include, Chairman, Imo PDP, Barr. Nnamdi Anyaehie, Sen. Chris Anyanwu, Hope Uzodinma, Amb. Greg Mbadiwe, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, former Deputy Governors and numerous party leaders.

Earlier, the Campaign train paid courtesy visits to the traditional rulers of the council areas where the Governorship hopeful was blessed and prayed for.

This serves him right, as i was robbed out of my own project and contribution to the developement of my state after i spent lots of money developing a security and community IT projects for Imo state. What did Okorocha and his cohorts did with that project, they schemed me out of it and used my knowledge and project to award contracts to his close associates and friends. I know and predicted his down fall since last year november/december when he defected to join APC in order to escape from all his evil deeds thinking that change of political party could save him from the embarrassment he gave to the people of Ideator south/ north.

Except for trying to build two lane roads that pass the Ideatos and Orlu, Okorocha did his four years in office acting mostly as governor of the state capital city, Owerri, where he spent nearly 90% of Imo’s money building infrastructures.

At one point, people wondered whether Okorocha did not know that Imo state is larger than Owerri.

Okorocha is hardly in good terms with any politician of note from Orlu zone. If he fails out with any politicians from Orlu zone, he visits the punishment on the masses of the area by denying them infrastructure that should have been due for the area.

In these days of campaign, to talk to Imolites, Okorocha has to send buses to the other parts of Imo state to bring people to Owerri to see Okorocha good works, because there isnhardly any good project of Okorocha outside the state capital.

Let Ideato enter into a negotiated settlement with Hon Ihedioha regarding what he can do for the Ideatos if they give him their votes.

Orlu zone has the number spot, there is no reason to change seat. If there is the need, we will vote for APGA
