The Federal Government of Nigeria on Thursday reveal that the dreaded Militant Islamic group, Boko have are planning to attack soft targets with bombs hidden in livestock like Cows, goats and Chickens – and requested resident to beware of the new development.
The government also revealed that the insurgents have perfected plans to unleash suicide bombers who will disguise as cobblers and hide explosives inside the box to attack innocent Nigerians
Spokesman of the National Information Centre, Mike Omeri made the disclosure at a press conference in Abuja and said steps are already being taken to arrest the plan of the terrorists group.
Omeri made the statement based on the intelligence received by the Nigeria Security forces which ” indicates that a plan by Boko Haram to use livestock such as Goats, Cows, Donkeys and Camels laden with explosives to attack Chosen targets.
” Available intelligence also indicate a plan by Boko Haram to use Male suicide bombers disguised as Cobblers (Shoemakers) to hide explosives in their tool boxes and detonate them in soft targets such as Markets, Restaurants, ATM location , Political rallies , Worship Centers and other Public areas.
” The general public, including all persons operating within and around the aforementioned places are advised to be vigilant and mindful of suspicious activities within their environment.” Omeri said.
The Spokesperson of the Department of State Security DSS Marilyn Ogar who was also at the press conference said that relevant government agencies have since been informed of the intelligence and measures are being taken to stall plans by the terrorists .

” We have regular interactions with the relevant bodies and we have briefed them of the intelligence ” Ogar said
Omeri had revealed that 192 persons released by the Boko Haram group are currently receiving counseling at a Military facility in Yobe state.
” we can state that these persons are currently undergoing counseling after which they will return home to re- join their kith and Kin. ” Omeri said
He also stated that the 540 metric tones of food items have been taken by Federal Government to 100,000 displaced persons in Diffa, Niger Republic.
