The Rivers State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bro Felix Obuah says that Party is strongly marching on appreciably with its programmes despite obvious attempts by political detractors to throw spanners into its wheel of progress.
The party chair expressed this through a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Jerry Needam while responding to the reaction of the Rivers Mainstream Coalition to last weekend House of Assembly Primaries.
Dismissing the group’s claim that no primaries took place as unfounded and outright lies, Prince Obuah berated them for electing to discountenance every genuine effort to put the PDP in a position of strength ahead of 2015 general elections.
The Party chairman noted that the few disgruntled persons with the name, Mainstream Coalition are only aggrieved because they have woefully failed in their bid to destabilize the PDP.
All that is left for them, the statement further added is crying woof where not necessary either to justify the money paid to them for what they are doing or cause disaffection among loyal and faithful party members but all to no avail.
According to Prince Obuah, equal level playing ground and fairness remain the party’s watch word at all levels of party primaries so that a winning team will be paraded for the 2015 election victory so desired.
No amount of blackmail or propaganda can make the PDP in the State renege on this natural democratic principle, he declared.
While congratulating those that emerged successful in the primaries, Bro Obuah asked them to see their emergence as victory for all and work harder to ensure that the upcoming elections are won by the PDP across the State.
