After what seemed an eternity, the Adamawa State Governor Barrister
James Bala Nggilari has finally presented a list of 21 commissioner
nominees to the State House of Assembly for consideration.
The list it was gathered, is coming after three months in office and
when concerns were being raised as to why he could not do so
immediately he was sworn-in.
Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment. Many people it was gathered attribute this delay on the differences
that exist between the Governor and the State Assembly who had tried
to impeach him but only succeeded in removing Vice Admiral Murtala
Nyako (rtd).
It would be recalled that during the impeachment saga then, both Nyako
and Bala his deputy were alleged to have been found guilty only for a
political roulette to play itself and giving the governorship to
Ngillari.
With the presentation of the list, however, it is expected that the
House will screen the nominees and those found to have scaled through
will thus be confirmed.
A political analyst who spoke to our Correspondent in confidence
disclosed that issues between the Governor and the House were sorted
out in close door discussions within the PDP household.
The 21 commissioner nominees one each from the 21 local governments
that make up the state has three women.
According to the list, the female nominees are Mrs. Rejoice Calvin,
Mrs. Marilyn Babayi and Mrs. Patricia Yakubu.
All nominees have been asked to submit their curriculum vitae to the
House by Monday.
