Prof Emeka Okoli, Okey Udeh, Others Pick APGA Forms

The first day of November 2014 saw the offices of the All Progressive Grand Alliance [APGA] alive with excitement as Prof Emeka Okoli, Okey Udeh and others arrived the party head office in Awka to collect their forms for the upcoming electoral exercise of 2015.

 

Prof. Emeka Okoli who arrived the party office at 12noon Saturday paid the sum of N2.5million for the forms for House of Representative representing Orumba North and Orumba South constituency. He was accompanied by the various [both present and former] party chairmen of local governments including ward chairmen. Chief Patrick Ezenaka – chairman Nanka ward-1, Dr. John Ekemezie – former APGA chairman for Orumba North, and other party representatives from Ajalli and Ufuma.

 

Also in the company of Prof Emeka Okoli was a onetime deputy governor of Anambra State and a onetime House of Representative member for Orumba North and South constituency, Chief Okey Udeh. Okey Udeh collected forms for the senatorial race, Anambra south Senatorial district. He is to battle for the senatorial seat currently occupied by Senator Andy Uba.

 

In talking with Prof. Emeka Okoli, he expressed great satisfaction with the new look of the party and the new direction the party is taken since the coming of the new Governor, Dr. Willie Obiano. “APGA of today is in a much better place today than ever before. The air is fresh and devoid of money politics. The spirit of Igbo which is what APGA is built upon is well and alive in APGA of today. All we are asking for is a level playing ground for everybody. We are sure the best man will emerge”.

Prof. Emeka Okoli is the elder brother of the former commissioner for science and technology, Hon. C. C. Okoli – who was recently kidnapped and killed early this year by unknown gunmen. Hon. C. C. Okoli had served under the Peter Obi administration.

 

Until recently, Prof. Emeka Okoli was based in the United States of America. He has since relocated to Anambra.
