Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has called on soldiers to take the fight to Boko Haram insurgents than arresting her members without cause.

The group warned soldiers to stop spending their energy on members of MASSOB who he said has been non violent in her struggle.

In a chat with newsmen in Aba, MASSOB’s acting director of Information, Sunny Okereafor lamented that soldiers stormed the venue of their Abia North monthly meeting at Ohafia with four Hilux vans and arrested twelve of their members.

He stated that the arrest was carried out by the soldiers despite the fact that the meeting was peaceful while arms were not found on any member.

Okereafor who warned that MASSOB would not take it lightly with the Army should anything sinister happens to any of the twelve members in their custody, added that this was not the first time his  members would be arrested in such a provocative manner.

“This is not the first time our members are arrested by soldiers without any just cause and we have been pushed to the wall too far and may change our tactics if this persists. There is a limit to which the MASSOB can take these reckless displays of naked force on her members by soldiers.

“Imagine soldiers fleeing from the Boko Haram, only to turn around to arrest MASSOB members who are non violent.”

Okereafor who called for the immediate release of the twelve arrested members at Ohafia, gave their names as to Ferguson Okorie, Chika Uluocha, Innocent Kalu, Marshal Akpan, John Kalu Obuh, Ibem Nmecha, Godwin Nwabueze, Evans Okoronkwo, Udonsi Kalu Ogbuka, amongst others

“Failure to release them, we will rise up in our own way to defend the arrested members,” he said.
