Ekiti State Football Association (ESFA) on Friday issued a notice of impeachment on its chairman, Mr Isaac Ayodele.
The notice which was served on the chairman, was said to be as result of misappropriation of the association funds and entitlement.
Members of the association listed nine fraudulent offenses against the chairman and demanded for his immediate response to the charges.
According to the notice of Impeachment, the chairman was alleged to have converted a sum of N4, 500, 000 released for the 2013 Governor’s Cup.
The association, also in the notice alleged that Ayodele converted the over N5, 000. 000 meant for Governor’s Cup 2014 to his personal use.
The notice also indicated that, the chairman allegedly embezzled a sum of N3, 000, 000 released by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to equip the association’s office.
All the allegations, according to the notice is contrary to Article 3(2) (5) and 20 (G) of the said statues.
Other charges allegedly leveled against the chairman were based on embezzlement of all the funds release by the NFF to support the activities of the association between 2010 and 2014.
The Chairman, Mr Isaac Ayodele in his reaction described all the allegations as baseless and untrue.
He said the money for the Governor’s Cup were spent in line with the agreement and consent of the members of the association.
Ayodele said the computer and fax machine donated by the NFF for association was set up in the association secretary’s office.
He said that all the funds given to the association by NFF were spent judiciously.
Six of the nine members of the association signed the impeachment notice.
