Bishop Ezeokafor Wants Late Dora Akunyili Immortalized

The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese His Lordship Most Rev. Dr. Paulinus Ezeokafor has called for the immortalization of the former Director-General of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and one time Minister of Information and Communication, Late Prof. Dora Nkemdilim Akunyili who died on Saturday the 7th day of June, 2014.

The Catholic prelate who made the call at St. Patrickโ€™s Catholic Cathedral Awka, where he gave out his impression about the late erstwhile NAFDAC boss described Dora as an achiever, principled person, lover of education, devout nationalist, sincere individual and a good Christian.

According to him, โ€˜she was an international renowned pharmacist, pharmacologist, elder state-person, erudite scholar, seasoned administrator and a visionary leader who championed the foremost national Re-branding campaign titled โ€˜Nigeria Good People, Great Nationโ€™. She meritoriously and honourably served her country in various capacities like NAFDAC, and even as Minister of Information and communication, anyone who will not say well of the late Amazon should be regarded as enemy of this country,โ€™ he said.

Bishop Ezeokafor said Dora Exhibited accountability, fairness, impartiality, transparency and a high level of professionalism during her period of selfless service to her father land and appealed to the Local, State and Federal Government to immortalized without further delay.
