Anglican Church Gets Two New Bishops

The Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion yesterday added  two new
bishops to the number of bishops they have in the country.
Also the are Venerable, Prince Asukwo Antai who is now the Bishop of
Uyo Diocese and Venerable Williams O. Aladekugbe who is now the Bishop
of Oyo Diocese.
Before the consecration of the two new bishops, the Anglican Church of
Nigeria had 166 bishops. Whereas Oyo had a bishop, the new bishop
would be replacing him thereby making the number of
bishops to 167.
The Primate of all Nigeria Anglican faithful and Archbishop
Metropolitan, His Eminence, Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh who presided over
the consecration of the two bishops at the Cathedral Church of Good
shepherd, Enugu, venue of the 2014 General Synod to the church,
charged the new bishops to propagate the gospel of Jesus Christ in
order make disciples out of Nigerians.
Most Rev. Okoh also charged the two bishops to devote themselves to
prayer and to be ready at all times to read the scriptures and to such
studies held by the undivided church and declare in the creeds.
Okoh equally charged them to teach and proclaim the gospel of Christ
and declare its meaning to the church.
Prominent personalities attended the 5-day synod that began in
September 15 to culminate in September 20, 2014.  Among the prominent
personalities and parishioners that attended the Synod include Dr.
Alex Ekwueme, former Vice President of Nigeria.
