- Pledges closer tie in the fight against terrorism
In furtherance of his avowed commitment to strengthening inter-agency collaboration in the ongoing war against violent crimes and insurgency, the Ag. Inspector-General of Police, IGP Suleiman Abba, Tuesday, 5th August, 2014, paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh as well as the Chief of Army, Lt. General Kenneth Minimah.
During the visit, the IGP held crucial discussions with the service Chiefs, promising to strengthen the age long cooperation between the military and the Police and enjoined the military authorities to continue to extend their support to the Police in providing adequate safety and security for the country.
In their various responses, the CDS and the Army Chief congratulated the new IGP on his appointment and promised to team up with him as they redouble their efforts in all areas essential to the war against terror, including training and joint Military-Police operations.
In a related development, the IGP equally paid a courtesy call on the FCT Minister who warmly received him and expressed optimism that the new IGP will bring his experience to bear in the current effort to ensure lasting safety and security in our country.
