Ekiti State Governor-Elect, Dr Ayodele Fayose and Minister for State for Works, Prince Dayo Adeyeye have reiterated their determination to work together to ensure rapid and sustained development for Ekiti State.

Fayose and Adeyeye, who spoke during the thanksgiving service in honour of Adeyeye at St Mark Anglican church, Odo Ise, Ise EkitiĀ on Saturday, said the only way to appreciate God for what He had done for them was to use their positions for the betterment of the people.

Fayose, who described the appointment of Adeyeye as a minister as “well deserved” said; “I will join hands with Adeyeye to promote d interest of every Ekiti indigene at the Federal level.

“We will work very closely for the betterment of Ekiti and its people and I want to assure you that my minister will not be that minister that won’t be readily available to his people.

“Continue to pray for him, and when you pray for Adeyeye, you will be praying for Ekiti. It is my prayer that one day very soon, my minister will become a substantive minister of works.”

In his own remark, Adeyeye dedicated his appointment to God and thanked President Goodluck Jonathan, saying; “I thank the President for righting the wrong done to me seven years ago because my name was withdrawn from the Senate as a ministerial nominee on July 9, 2007 that I was cleared as a minister by the Senate on July 9, 2014. I pledge my 100 percent loyalty to the President not only now, but throughout his second term which he will get by the grace of God.

He also thanked Fayose, describing him as “an enigma, a man of his words who was committed to my becoming a minister and in every fora, he made it a point of duty to state it.

“I pray that he will have a successful tenure. His tenure will be one that his family will enjoy, and Ekiti pple will enjoy.

“The Governor-elect can count on my loyalty completely. I will not allow anyone to come between us. I will continue to support his government.”

In his sermon, the Bishop of Ekiti Diocese of the Anglican Communion,Rt Rev Christopher Omotunde emphasised that political leaders should be influenced by the fear of God and service to the people. Rt. Rev Omotunde also reminded the people that no matter how much effort they put in a venture, only God could determine its success.
