National Agency for Food, Drugs and Administration and Control, NAFDAC and Consumers Protection Council, CPC Anambra State Chapter is said to be hunting for Bro. Chinonye Offor, the Prayer Group Chairman in Onitsha Patent Proprietors Medicine Dealers Union, OPPMDU bridgehead market over the alleged sells of different fake drugs.
It was gathered that NAFDAC at the weekend stormed Onitsha bridgehead drugs market on routine cheeks where they discovered quantity of drugs suspected to be fake, while one of the servants of Bro. Chinonye Offor was arrested and currently cooling his head at Fegge Police Station over the mater.
On sighting the men of the anti-drugs men, the prayer group chairman was said to have bailed himself with his heels while Strepsil tablets, Zentel tablets, Optalidon, Papilox Beechem, among other drugs were recovered in his shop in great quantity.
Investigation conducted on the shameful act of the man with Bible in his left and fake drugs in his right hands revealed that he has went to war with the leadership of the market after noticing that sells of fake drugs in the market is the major cardinal point of the caretaker committee men set up by the State Government.
However, Consumers Protection Council, CPC Anambra State Chapter has extended an invitation to the Prayer Group Chairman in Onitsha Patent Proprietors Medicine Dealers Union, OPPMDU bridgehead market over the alleged sells of different fake drugs and other suspected substandard products, the invitation Bro. Chinonye Offor is said to have turned down.
Reliable sources within the offices of NAFDAC and that of CPC accused Bro. Offor of having being in the act of faking different types of drugs and other consumable products both in Onitsha Drugs market and other parts of Anambra State.
