…Agrees on rotational leadership
The Governors of the south-east geo-political zone met yesterday at Enugu Government House under the auspices of South-East Governors Forum to tackle insecurity in the region.
Chairman of the Forum, Chief Theodore Orji of Abia State, while addressing newsmen at the end of the meeting said, “We have jointly agreed to purchase security equipments. Â We got quotation from a reputable international vendor for the supplies of these gadgets that will upscale security in the zone.
“We agreed that the leadership of the Forum should be rotated in alphabetical order.
“We reviewed progress in agricultural production being made in each of the states of the zone and resolved to do more in food production and employment opportunities.
“Our meeting today equally reviewed with satisfaction, that the assigned duties and responsibilities at the last meeting had been duly completed.
“The Forum resolved to further increase co operation among themselves by sharing of ideas on problem-solving solutions used in their various states.”
Host Governor, Sullivan Chime who is on annual leave was however not represented by his Deputy, Sunday Onyebuchi.
Other governors in attendance includes; Martin Elechi, Ebonyi, Nkem Okeke, Deputy Governor, Anambra.
