THE Academic Staff union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has suspended its over 10-month-old strike.
The strike was suspended on Saturday morning at the union’s National Executive Council, (NEC), meeting held in Abuja.
Recall that the ASUP strike, started in October 2013, after weeks of warning strike.
The President of the Union, Dr Chibuzo Asomugha confirmed the suspension of the strike to Prompt Newsonline.
He said all striking lecturers have been directed to resume work with effective from Tuesday.
The ASUP NEC meeting came two days after the meeting of the leadership of the union with the new Education Minister, Ibrahim Shekarau.
